Additional Calzedonia stores added to Cooltech’s Portfolio​

Calzedonia Group is a fashion retail company specializing in the hosiery, beachwear and underwear market. Founded in Italy in 1987, it has in little more than 27 years established a network of more than 3,600 stores in over 35 countries, with stores in many major cities such as Milan, Rome, Paris, London, Berlin, Moscow, Barcelona, and Hong Kong, and more than 26,000 employees worldwide. The Group’s network will continue to grow further with a full program of new store openings around the world.

One of these new stores opened in Kingston Upon Thames recently. Cooltech is proud to say that we were involved with this as well as an additional project at the Oxford Street Store.

Cooltech made alterations to the air conditioning ducting within the sales area, providing bespoke ductwork to accommodate the interior designers vision for the store, whilst at the same time making sure that the mechanical installation would function correctly within these parameters. This coupled with ventilation to the upper floor storage area now provides a very comfortable retail environment.

Calzedonia – Oxford Street

Following major Structural work to the building which left us with challenges in regard to siting of the mechanical equipment, Cooltech provided air conditioning to the split level retail space using ducted fan coil units and bespoke ductwork, along with ventilation, water and waste services to the staff welfare areas.

All projects have their challenges and this site was no exception.

Without access to the rear of the property, all equipment having to be stored within the workspace, and with the obvious vehicle restrictions along Oxford Street, this was a very cosy site.

Thankfully all contractors in the team have been working together for some time. This is often overlooked but something that the Calzedonia management team put great emphasis on, which created a very good atmosphere and a pleasant place to work.
