Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organisation for children. Working in around 120 countries. Save The Children works to save children’s lives; “we fight for their rights; we help them fulfil their potential.”

Examples of Save the Children’s work include helping more than 180,000 children in the Philippines after the typhoon struck, helping Syrian children survive the harsh winters and team on the ground in central Africa to help children caught up in the Central African Republican Crisis.

A former Director Of Cooltech Building Services Limited, Richard booth is completing the Rajasthan Cycle Challenge (26th February – 9th March) to raise money for this extraordinary Charity. He will be part of a 22 person team undertaking a 526Km six day challenge across India.

download (3)images (3)The cycle itinerary for the journey is as set out below, all members of the team have put months of training in to prepare themselves. Once in India all accommodation will be basic, including tents on two stages and with the average temperature at 36°C it proves to be an extreme challenge, to both mind and body.

Day 1 – Taj Mahal to Keoladeo Ghana National Park – 85km approx / 7-8hrs
Day 2 – Keoladeo Ghana National Park to Karauli – 113km approx / 9-10hrs
Day 3 – Karauli to Ranthambore National Park – 112km approx /8-9 hrs
Day 4 – Cycle to Rawat village, Dastkar Women’s Co-operative and Ranthambhore National Park – 45km approx 7-8 hrs
Day 5 – Ranthambore National Park to Bhanderej – 115km approx / 8-10hrs
Day 6 Bhanderej to Jaipur – 56km / 5-6hrs
